ABSTRACT
Make an incision through the skin, subcutaneous tissue and platysma. The marginal mandibular nerve can be damaged in the early stages of the procedure.
The nerve does not always have to be formally identified but knowledge of the relevant clinical anatomy is important as the nerve lies deep to the
mandible (4,5).
