ABSTRACT

Apprehension about the future is the result of the fear of unlearning, connected to the refusal by individuals to deconstruct their world fast enough so they can comprehend the emerging landscapes, either in behavior, society or technology. Thinking frameworks cannot productively coexist: we cannot talk about a rise in online shopping while at the same time plan and build megamalls. The new will eventually obsolesce the old; the only unknowns are ‘when?’ and ‘how fast?’
