ABSTRACT
It is a pleasure for the SSCLE to announce that its new treasurer, Prof. James D. Ryan, 100 West 94th Street, Apartment 26M, New York NY 10025, U.S.A., james.d.ryan@ verizon.net has been extremely successful both in re-establishing contact with many members who had not been asked to pay their dues during the past years and in recruiting new members. The three years between 2002 and 2005 without an effective treasurer were difficult indeed. You can read in Professor Ryan’s report his warning that a further increase in subscription rates will be needed within the next two years. But it is essentially due to his hard work that the situation is as good as it is, and we should thank him warmly for all his efforts.
