ABSTRACT

Climate change impacts on agriculture and other land based sectors. Farming, fishing and forest communities will need to adapt their livelihood systems, while mitigation efforts must address both the contribution of agriculture to the climate change problem and management practices in reducing greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The impact of climate change on crop production in the survey was simulated based on crop yield and production function models to assess the implications of climate change for local food security. People's ability to maintain food security in the face of climate change will depend on their adaptive capacity. The main concern about climate change and food security is that changing climatic conditions can initiate a vicious circle where infectious diseases cause or compounds hunger which makes the affected populations more susceptible to infectious diseases. The impacts of biotic factors on crop production and food security are more obvious, it is important to have significant impact on the safety of food crops.
