ABSTRACT
Over the four previous chapters, I have described some of the many different reasons for caring about string theory – what do all those people who work on ‘string theory’ actually do? The diversity of topics reflects a diversity of interests. The diversity of interests reflects the diversity of individuals. It also reflects very different styles of doing science.
