ABSTRACT
The required minimum value of H BV is dependent on the design of each individual pump and the conditions under which it operates. For any given total head, speed, and discharge, it may be ascertained by testing the pump with increasing effective suction lifts until a point is reached where there is a marked drop in efficiency, signifying the onset of cavitation.
