ABSTRACT
This estimate leaves out the effect of the ion cores. Nevertheless it gives a sensible value, showing that the exclusion principle is principally responsible for the incompressibility of metals. Some experimental values are 1.4 x 1011 Pa for copper and 0.07 x 1011 Pa for lead.
