ABSTRACT
Cardinal numbers have been introduced in Chapter 4. The present chapter is devoted to the study of their general properties, with the particular emphasis on the cardinality of the continuum, 20 . In this section we set out to define arithmetic operations (addition, multiplication, and exponentiation) on cardinal numbers and investigate the properties of these operations.
