ABSTRACT
In Chapter 1, we have seen that in the vector data model spatial entities are stored as either points, line or areas. In this chapter, we will take a look at the key features of some of the many data structures which have been developed to store vector data. In doing so, we will discover that ideas from mathematics have been very important in the development of these data structures.
