ABSTRACT
3.1 The idea of product of structures first appeared in geometry, it is for example inherent in the definition of coordinates of a point in a plane with respect to coordinate axes. However, in full abstract generality, not every structure allows the formation of a product. That it is possible to consider the product of sets as a set is important because of the role it plays in defining relations, graphs, functors, etc ..
