ABSTRACT

While many consider documentation the most tedious part of the design process, there are numerous good reasons for producing well-written, informative, and convincing documents. Putting your thoughts down on paper helps you to organize and refine ideas. Written material, often combined with oral presentations, can persuade an audience to support your effort (financially or otherwise). Finally, writing preserves your work and allows either you or another design team to have a starting point for future work.
