ABSTRACT

Most TV programs are produced with a system of multiple live cameras or pre-recordings. In video making, there are two situations in which only a single camera is used: In the first, the decision to use only one camera is a deliberate one. In the second, limited resources means only one camera can be used. Using two or more cameras connected to a video mixer allows filming to take place continuously. In the triple take procedure, the end of each shot must always be repeated at the beginning of the next shot and so on until the end of the film. The split sequence procedure consists of shooting the whole scene from several positions to obtain an equal number of shots that can be combined during editing. In the establishing shot procedure, a master shot of the entire scene is recorded, generally in the form of a long shot, which acts as a reference.
