ABSTRACT
Surgery is the foundation and bedrock of modern cancer treatment. rough a continuum of innovation surgery retains its preeminence in this eld of endeavor. One of the major goals of oncologic surgery is the complete resection of gross and microscopic tumor without undue morbidity to normal tissue and organ function. Achieving this remains both art and science.
