ABSTRACT

The extracurricular activities for all of our cohorts were quite similar. All of the groups went on an Underground Railroad tour with a stop at Niagara Falls; attended presentations at the SUNY Buffalo State International Anne Frank Project, including a presentation by Professors Paige, Marren, and Wall entitled "Eugenics: Lest We Forget"; participated in the closing LC Symposium; and had a final, farewell meal at the end of the semester. All of the cohorts but the graduate group went to the Roycroft Inn and Campus for dinner and a tour of Elbert Hubbard's famous arts and crafts community. This was a tie-in with the book City of Light that was read in BSC 101 and the many social issues discussed in SOC 100 and COM 100. The Roycroft trip was a suggestion made by the graduate group and implemented thereafter.
