ABSTRACT

Brought into the world by a 15-year-old Latin American women, the author grew up in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn, N. Y. Being the oldest of five, and the first in her family to finish high school and attend college, was no easy deed. She enjoys writing and was always deeply involved in school and helped manage school shows, activities, fundraisers, and charity events. Overall, the learning community experience was a great one. At this very moment she still have very close relationships with the people she was within the learning community, in addition to the teachers and faculty. Volunteering was fun and it allowed students to receive extra credit points once they wrote a paper on what they did. This helped the students get involved more on campus and helped them help the school in annual activities and festivities that makes State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo State the campus that it is.
