ABSTRACT
This chapter aims to help school leaders to identify ways to use technology to advantage. Technology is an area that can easily result in even more information overload if it is not managed properly. Technology can provide some solutions, but there are lots of options. A valuable first step is to listen to parents, teachers and students, so that school leaders get to the root cause of issues before throwing money at various technology upgrades or overhauls. Technology can also enable 'flipped learning' where typical lecture and homework elements of a course are reversed, meaning short video lectures are viewed by students at home before the class session, so time in class is devoted to more informed and more engaging discussions. SMS messaging technology is also crucial, and it is very accessible, with many platforms to choose from depending on school leader's requirements.
