ABSTRACT

A “take-home exam” to us is one which you transmit to students, provide them with some time limit, and then ask them to submit it online or return to you without using in-class time to complete the exam itself. For purposes of this discussion, “take-home exams” can be either in paper format or delivered online; the issues are the same. It shares some similarities and overlapping issues with open-book exams ∗ and with cheat sheets or crib sheets ∗. You may notice that these three entries follow a similar structure.
