ABSTRACT
Beneficence is not the latest Disney princess, rather, it is the concept that anything we do as educators should be done for the good and the welfare of students. This is a particularly important ethical principle in assessment because assessment situations often bring the ethical weighing and balancing into stark relief. It is also important to understand where the boundaries of beneficence are and what beneficence is not.
