ABSTRACT

Aging is unanimously considered as a stage of unease packed with diseases and disabilities. Feelings about getting old matter a lot for each individual. Aging is marked by abounding deteriorative and degenerative changes comprising morphological, anatomical, and physiological changes. It is amenable to the onset of neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), and Huntington's disease (HD), to point a few, which results in cognitive deficits. The economic hurdle to treat these diseases makes the aged ones more tiresome. Current scientific researches are vocal on the title “aging well,” hiring a barrage of treatment strategies as magic bullets to try to reverse aging and extend life expectancy. Yet the paucity of effective therapeutic practices continues. Emergence of lifestyle factors based on nutritional therapies and bounteous compounds from natural resources are prevailing today to fulfill the stage of happy and healthy aging. The chapter explains selected grounds and determents of aging.
