Inthisbookwepresentacomprehensiveportraitof changesinincomes,taxes,wages,employment,wealth, povertyandotherindicatorsofeconomicperformanceand economicwell-being.Werelyalmostexclusivelyondatain thetablesandfigurestodescribethewho,what,why,when andwhereofincomechangesinthepost-warperiod.Consequently,thedocumentationofouranalysisisessentially thedocumentationofthetablesandfiguresinthebook. Thisallowsustoomitdistractingfootnotesorcitationsin thetextortables.Allofthedocumentationiscontainedin the"TableNotes"sectiononpages451-473whichprovidesthesourcesofthedataweuseandinformationabout thecalculationswemadewiththedata.Insomeselective circumstances,however,weincorporatedatainthediscussionthatisnotinatableorfigure.
