ABSTRACT

Kyung-Sup Chang is Associate Professor of Sociology and International Studies at Seoul National University. He received his B.A. in sociology from Seoul National University in 1984 and his Ph.D. in sociology from Brown University in 1991. He is the managing editor of Development and Society and has also served as an adjunct editorial writer for Hanguk Ilbo (Korea Daily). His academic work on East Asian Development has been published in numerous periodicals, including World Development, Journal of Developmental Studies, Economy and Society, and Rationality and Society. He is currently preparing a two-volume work on South Korea's modernization.
