ABSTRACT

In 1945, in the final months of the war, eight captured American fliers were used as subjects for medical experiments in vivisection. The perpetrators ofthis atrocity were connected with the Medical Faculty ofKyushu University and the Western Division ofthe Japanese Army. After the war, Fukujiro Ishiyama was arrested and charged with being directly responsible for these clinical murders. Before his case could be brought to trial, however, he committed suicide in prison.
