ABSTRACT
BasiceducationinMexicohasbeenstructurallyreformedinthelastfewyears. In1992,theNationalAgreementfortheModernizationofBasicandNormal Educationdecentralizedbasicandnormaleducation,reformedthecurriculum, andupgradedteachingconditions.In1993,theGeneralLawofEducationobligatedthegovernmenttoprovideoneyearofpreschooleducationandextended compulsoryeducationfromsixyearsofprimaryeducation(agessixtofourteen atthemost)tonineyearsofbasiceducation,includingthreeyearsoflower secondaryschool.
