ABSTRACT

The remedial relatedness curative on a personal level involves its societal form–a global nurturing kinship. The notion of nurturing kinship may be complicated by stereotypical ideas about nurturing as a feminine attribute rather than a masculine quality characteristic to men. The chapter describes possible path of transformation that leads to a new relatedness based on nurturing beyond one's kin. It proceeds to embrace spirituality as an essential element of the moral use of scientific data and meaning-making of experiences. The chapter shows that proven technique of active imagination and amplification in the psychological healing of trauma play an increasing role in cultural transformations. It focuses on contribution to the collective efforts of maturation as humanity and in growing sense of nurturing kinship taking place through imagining what is and becoming better at envisioning possibilities and amplifying the visions with worthwhile actions for people and the world.
