ABSTRACT

The matheme of the Analyst points to the focus of Plato's project through the mouthpiece of Socrates which refers to the method of maieutics where the internal knowledge residing within the soul is brought forth with the help of Socrates' questions. The Analyst discourse is often used within the arts and within creative writing where methodologies aim to achieve flow. The discourse of the Analyst can lead to different kinds of creativity. In the context of the Analyst discourse in the clinic, the Other has involved the unconscious dimension of the analysand's psyche and the enigmatic analyst. In the context of education, the Other is often the lecturer, but the multicultural classroom is also a means of establishing a creative environment/culture. Learning in relation to the unknown other has always been put forward as an important aspect of social development. Learning from the Other according to Levinas involves learning from the foreigner.
