ABSTRACT

This chapter demonstrates how the results of a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment can be used to develop an Individualized Education Program (IEP). It discusses the process of writing an IEP. There should be goals related to organization, social/emotional regulation, graphomotor development, and writing. Present Levels of Performance (PLEP) A is used to describe the areas of educational curriculum that are impacted by an individual's difficulties. The chapter presents a case study of Leila. Leila's academic skills, academic fluency, and ability to apply academic skills were all in the average range, as were her broad math abilities. PLEP B is used to present ways in which Leila's difficulties impact other aspects of school education outside of accessing the curriculum. The results of Leila's evaluation indicate that she is working at grade level in certain areas, but that her difficulties impact her ability to access the curriculum.
