ABSTRACT
As the BOLT planner, you will experience several typical situations that arise when dealing with common parts. In the example, the BOLT is used with the GIZMO, TABLE and MOTOR.
Notice that BOLT is used in making the MOTOR, the TOP and fi nally the GIZMO. Th e exploded BOLT order release schedule for 10 GIZMOs is shown in Table 4.2
Since the lot size is 10, you would have to place four lots immediately, eight in 2 days and 16 in 3 days. Typically, MRP combines the demands into the TOTAL schedule. Th e problem is that you will need to specify the delivery location. Since the GIZMO uses the most BOLTs, you can specify that location, but you will have to transport BOLT to the TOP and MOTOR locations when those lots are delivered.
