Basically, there are four common types of basic production systems:
• Batch system • General purpose equipment and methods are used to produce
small quantities of output (goods or services) with speciŽcations that vary greatly from one batch to the next. ere are many examples of this type of system that include heavy-duty construction machinery, insurance claims, processed foods, specialized machine tools, and specialty chemicals.
