ABSTRACT

I wanted to rest and recharge, and spend time with my kids. I also made the decision to pursue a Six Sigma Black Belt certification. I had taken a lot of training over the years and had led many projects, but I still had a lot to learn. So for six months, I got up every morning and took my kids to school, which was fun. Waiting in the drop-off line, and then watching the little rascals carry their book bags into school with all the other little people was a hoot. I then went to the YMCA and worked out, and then headed to the public library to study Six Sigma. I left there to pick up the kids from school and then did “Dad things” with them. It was great. After everyone went to bed, I would study some more. Sometimes, I went outside during the night and walked around looking at the stars. I had forgotten what they looked like. One evening, I got a glass of wine, sat on the patio, and just watched the starry sky for over an hour. To this day, I still randomly head out in the middle of the night to watch the stars.
