ABSTRACT
In the new economy, organizations must not only get continuous improvement right, but also must accelerate their rate of continuous and sustainable improvement. The need for improvement is rapidly becoming greater than the capability and capacity to improve of most organizations. This chapter provides an overview of the most critical leadership, strategy, and sustaining infrastructure elements of successful continuous improvement initiatives. Over many years and consulting engagements, we have developed proven accelerators of continuous improvement that are embedded in this sustainable implementation infrastructure: Strategic Leadership and Vision, Deployment Planning, and Execution.
