ABSTRACT
Medical Staff Traditional medical staff models date back to the initial quality improvement efforts of physician leaders as early as the 1900s. The American College of Surgeons was the first to formalize an approach to this in 1919, establishing voluntary standards that defined what a medical staff should do for approved hospitals.
