ABSTRACT
My first job in manufacturing was as a glorified machine operator. I made molded samples for a development engineering department. I must have done something right because after only 3 months I was promoted to third-shift assistant supervisor of the molding department. This was another glorified position because my responsibilities included going from one molding machine to another for the purpose of inspecting random samples and making adjustments if I identified defects.
