ABSTRACT
Focus on process is more effective than management by results. Planning can be done at different levels of detail. In construction, as the resolution increases, abstract planning gives way to production system design. In production system design, the “black boxes” of abstract planning are opened up and the intricate interactions and movements of workers and equipment must be thoroughly thought through.
