ABSTRACT
Leadership is a funny thing. Often it is thrust on you without warning. When leadership opportunities come, our response will impact those we are leading. Stepping out of one’s comfort zone to lead often benefits not only the person in the leadership role, but also those being lead. This narrative describes the experience of a new crisis response team leader facing the traumatic aftermath of a fatal car accident.
