ABSTRACT
A tragic car accident killed a popular high school student. The immediate impact and response by students, staff, and community was overwhelming. Key themes addressed include creating the proper mindset for crisis work, psychological first aid and system-wide approaches to crisis intervention, flexible teamwork, and lessons learned.
