ABSTRACT

InDesign® styles are a useful tool for streamlining the production process of any project, but especially for the production of publications consisting of many pages and sections. With the styles user can create and apply specified type styles to repeat elements. The chapter teaches how to create Paragraph Styles, a New Style, and a Style Based on Specifications Set in the Text using the tool. It also helps user to create Character Styles. These styles are used to apply formats to specific words or pieces of text within paragraphs, but not to the entire paragraph. User can highlight a selected word, or group of words, and create a character style based on it by opening the Character Styles menu and naming the style. User can also check Apply Style to Selection to apply the new style to the selected text. The chapter expalins how to apply Paragraph Styles and Character Styles in by providing steps.
