ABSTRACT

Heads and Subheads are the two largest elements on a page. Heads should be easy to read and stand out on the page. Subheads should be set large enough, or bold enough, to clearly differentiate them from the text copy, but small enough not to be confused with the heads. Captions should be set at least two point sizes smaller than the text. Pull quotes can be inset into the text or hung partially in the column of type and partially in the margin. Footnotes are set one or two point sizes smaller than the body text and in the same typeface as the text. Quotations within the text are usually set off from the text by being set in a smaller or a different font from the text, and also may have all lines indented from the left and sometimes from the right.
