ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book Presents 'Indian Muslim' racial differences were demonstrates as following patterns that were common to the imagination of racial difference in Singapore. 'Indian Muslims' are criticised for the disunity and strife they allegedly cause through their demands and their insistence on being different. The common understanding of problems 'Indian Muslims' face in Singapore has been a dilemma. Many 'Indian Muslim' demands were addressed in the early 2000s by the provision of more funds for religious education and permits for hiring religious scholars from India. Indian Muslims', according to this view, identify as a 'community' with a set of practices that define them as different. 'Indian Muslims' are criticised for the disunity and strife they allegedly cause through their demands and their insistence on being different.
