ABSTRACT

Rejecting explanations in terms of causal influence, Jung proposes that time is the explanatory factor behind astrology, in that anything born or done at a particular moment bears the qualitative stamp of that moment. Jung argues that time is simply a measure of change occurring in the world; with no change there would be no time. He also connects time to the realization of latent energy and the fulfillment of fate, arguing that changing planetary configurations, like the hands of a clock, are indicators of the passing of time. Ultimately, he rejects this explanation in terms of time in favor of synchronicity.
