ABSTRACT
Complexity is a thorny topic. At the start of this book project, the two authors probably did not define it in the same way; in fact, we avoided any discussion of what we meant by “complexity.” By the end, we may have come to a common understanding of what complexity means to archaeologists and the methods by which they identify and analyze it. We hope that our readers will see it our way, though we certainly understand that you may not.
