ABSTRACT

The ordinary dreams are significant to the psychiatrist who is dealing with a neurotic patient, but for normal people they have no meaning. Whereas the common dreams are confused, illogical and quickly forgotten, these rare dreams are like actual experience and unforgettable. Sometimes a psychic dream is seen only once in a lifetime; more often it is a frequent occurrence. And this type of dreamer often is gifted in other phases of psychic ability as well. The frequent association of the early morning hours with the psychic dream has apparently been observed for a long time. There should be noted also the striking circumstance reported by more than one, that of having the dream image continue for an appreciable time after the dreamer knows that he is awake and aware of his surroundings. Perhaps the most general characteristic of these psychic dreams is that they are short.
