ABSTRACT

Several studies in the field of clinical psychology that focus on child development support the positive impact of preventive interventions. The economic rationality of prevention predicts that social assistance towards mental health could be optimized if there was more investment in the promotion of interpersonal development and positive behaviors of children, reinforcing the relevance of investigations that focus on the development of interventions (Del Prette & Del Prette, 2005a). Hence, the psychological treatment of children should be considered not only as a therapeutic focus for interventions, but also as a form of mental illness prevention and health promotion (Petersen & Wainer, 2011).
