House styles vary considerably, even within a single homestead.191 The traditional house in most of the region is a round hut called msonge (plural misonge). These houses have a low outside wall topped with a conical grass roof. The larger misonge have an inner circular room in which grain and small stock are kept. In such houses, the outer circle is divided up into a number of rooms.
