InTheGreenBookQadhdhafiisaddressinganessentiallynonMuslimaudience.Therethesubjectsofreligionandnational identityaretreatedsobroadlyandsimplythatmanyquestionsare leftunanswered.ThevariouscurrentsofnationalisminEuropeand theirinfluenceonmovementsintheNearEast,andthediverse approacheswhichthelatterhavetakentoreligion,aresomeofthe issueswhichmustatleastbenoted.Itis,however,withtheissueof theconflictofIslamicandnationalidentity,orthepossibleharmony betweenthetwo,thatthepresentdiscussionwillbeconcerned.
