ABSTRACT
The present-day Central Province of Kenya includes two Bantu-speaking groups, the Kikuyu and the Kamba. The Kikuyu2 tribes consist of the Kikuyu proper and a cluster of smaller groups living on the eastern and southern slopes of Mount Kenya, to the north of the Kikuyu proper. They are apparently all related in physical character, culture and language.
