ABSTRACT
This chapter overviews the critical transition from the school psychology internship into the first year of professional practice. Distinct characteristics, needs, and challenges associated with the early career stage of professional psychologists are described. The importance of supervision and mentoring in promoting a successful transition from trainee to professional is highlighted.
