ABSTRACT
King Panthurakkha, and his queen, Yakkhani Devi, are holding court in Lankapura. Brahma descends from his heavenly abode and after talking with the king he gathers his brahmas and tells them, 'Aggressive demons have arrived in the kingdom of Lanka Dipa and they want to seize Lankapura. After Brahma and his brahmas return to their abode, Indra, the Hindu god of Thunder and Lord of devas, sets out to build a new city for the king where he can live in comfort, peace, and safety. Kuvera heeds Indra's advice and sends a messenger to negotiate a compromise. This, however, enrages Dathagiri because he regards Kuvera as the one who exiled the entire demon race from Lankapura and prevented his grandparents from living there. Dathagiri boards his flying chariot, and as he soars through the skies, he sees a head bobbing on the surface of the water below.
