ABSTRACT
The decision to major in criminal justice is usually based on a desire for a career in some area of the field, such as law enforcement, corrections, cybercrime investigation, forensics, fraud investigation, law, or something related to the public administration or social services. By the conclusion of the internship experience, you should have a general understanding of the level of credentials needed for a particular group of positions that you have an interest in, the job responsibilities, and salary and benefits. It is important to keep one’s career goals in sight. Working in any criminal justice position is difficult in terms of legalities, peer pressure, long hours, and seeing human beings at their worst. If a person has the right attitude, philosophy, and personal stamina for coping with the myriad of emotions and frustrations inherent in this field, a criminal justice career can be very rewarding.
