ABSTRACT
Executive summary: The team software process (TSP) and personal software process (PSP) methodologies are among the most effective for large software projects above 10,000 function points in size. TSP/PSP methods are also effective for systems software, embedded software, and for software that needs certification by government groups such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA). TSP/PSP are also effective for applications covered by Sarbanes–Oxley requirements. Both TSP/PSP are endorsed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) and are therefore used on many defense and military software projects.
