Eventually six collections of hadith became "canonical”: the Sahihs of al-Bukhari (see 151-153) and Muslim (see 495), and the four Sunan works of AbCT Dawud (202/817-275/888), alTirmidhl (d,279/892), Nasa’T (215/830-303/915), and ibn Maja (209/824-273/886), which have not been translated — this from Robson*s introduction.
